A Focused Appraisal Of Your Operation

Objectives:

Has your company spent capital on "sigma" projects that only shows a "bookkeeping" or "on paper" return?

Mishandled statistical quality techniques can damage quality and profits. Your improvement initiative could be more effective.  We will assess and recommend new ways to bring quality and "sigma" initiatives in line with bottom line goals.

The Process:

Your operations and quality leadership teams will meet with our audit team to identify desired and perceived contributions of quality to operations success.

Our audit team will impartially evaluate and report on the methods, tools, division of labor, and compliance issues regarding operations and quality. Special attention will be focused on "gap" areas identified by the initial leadership team meeting.

The audit is complete when results and recommendations are presented in a concluding meeting with the leadership teams.

Additional Benefits

  • Open dialog between all parties responsible for production quality and quantity. "If only they would do...." is too often heard as reason for lack of progress. An audit allows you to voice perceptions and misperceptions with  an impartial party and all "they-s" present.

  • Urgency of action. Like many organizations, you may have procrastinated with issues that you really would like to settle once and for all. An audit can bring focus and action.

  • Unity of Purpose. In the comics, you may have seen a worker meticulously tightening screws while at the remote end of the winding assembly line another paid worker is just as serious about screw removal. In large organizations  there is always a bit of well-intentioned but cross-purpose effort which an audit can uncover.
